Terrific trip to Philadelphia

This past summer I surely have done a lot of traveling. I traveled to Lima Ohio, South Bend Indiana, Gatlinburg Tennessee, and two trips to Philadelphia Pennsylvania. This past weekend I made another trip to Philadelphia. For those who are unfamiliar I was also in Philadelphia in the beginning of July as I helped my Cousin Beth move. That trip was mostly work as we moved in all her stuff and set her apartment up.
This time the trip was more of a pleasure trip as we only did some minor work around her apartment. My Uncle Joe and I put some handles on her kitchen cabinets and drawers and that was the only real work we did. We left early Friday morning and arrived in Philadelphia around 3:30 PM. Friday evening we walked around some and ate at Bobby Flay’s Hamburger Palace. Later we watched a movie and called it a night because we were all tired from the long day.
Saturday was a very historical day as we went and saw the Liberty Bell and got a tour of Independence Hall. We also got a chance to see where Ben Franklin’s house used to be and checked out a Ben Franklin Museum. It is really cool to check out all the history that surrounds the city of Philadelphia. It seems like many times we forget the history that made the United States what it is today. I also got to ride on a subway for the first time, which was a pretty cool experience. The day also included a pizza and some great ice cream.
Sunday we decided was going to be shopping Sunday. One of the main stores Joe, Wendy, and I wanted to go to was Ikea. Ikea sells pretty much everything for the inside of your house. They have many different kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom designs. It was neat to look around and see all the different items you can buy for the inside of your house. Other stores we went to were Kohl’s, Target, Lowes, and a five dollars or less store. Finally we ate at the Nifty Fifty Diner, which had some of the best food I have had in a while. The milkshakes and hamburgers were excellent and we all really enjoyed the meal.
Monday arrived and it was time for us to head back home. We loaded up and left a little after 9 AM to head back to Akron and Lima. Joe and Wendy really had a long drive as they had to drive all the way back to Lima, Ohio, which was about a 9 ½ hour trip. I only had about a 7 hour trip, which was long enough. They dropped me off in Akron and I headed back to Green as the trip came to a close. I really have to thank Beth for inviting me and letting me stay at her place. Also I really want to thank Uncle Joe and Aunt Wendy for letting me ride along with them. I really appreciate everything that they do for me and it is a true joy to have such a great family.
